Clients have used our services to provide responses
to a range of issues. In each case we have offered a solution which
has been tailored to individual circumstance and need rather than
a standardised response.
This individually tailored approach has resulted in solutions that
have been practical and cost effective.
WORK WE HAVE UNDERTAKEN
Cartref Ni - a domiciliary care organisation in North Wales,
asked us to provide training on the National Minimum Standards.
A series of four workshops was arranged over 2006 and 2007 for staff
and managers from a range of private and local authority providers.
Scope wanted a review of all their services across education,
care, and work based training. We conducted a regulatory compliance
review in order to evaluate how well the services were able to respond
to external inspection. This work focused on internal systems of
self evaluation and performance management.
The Welsh Assembly Government wanted a review of how local
authorities were auditing youth support services. This resulted
in a range of meetings and online surveys in order to ascertain
the various approaches and strategies. A final report was produced
which provided an analysis of activity and recommendations.
A large housing association wanted an independent internal
investigation. This work required a sensitive but thorough approach.
Staff and tenants were interviewed and findings were presented within
a number of reports in order to inform management responses..
A task and finish group within a Children and Young People's
Framework Partnership (CYPFP) wanted an independent evaluation
of how effectively they had delivered an advocacy project. This
work involved interviewing key partners and young people.
Neath Port Talbot YPP wanted a presentation and workshop
on the challenges facing the young people's partnership with a particular
emphasis on the Estyn inspection process. Wrexham YPP wanted
an independent facilitation of a YPP consultation day.
A domiciliary care agency in North Wales wanted to promote
the rights of their clients with a learning disability to be fully
empowered and involved in the planning and delivery of their support.
We provided a service evaluation
system that enabled clients to rate different aspects of the
service and provide other feedback to the organisation.
Clwyd County Council Social Services Department purchased
an information management system from a leading IT company. Although
it had all the functionality required it was not user friendly.
This resulted in operational staff getting frustrated and not using
the system to it's potential. We were able to provide an alternative
database at a fraction of the cost that focussed on all the data
needs of the department, whilst having an intuitive and 'friendly'
interface. This system was used very successfully for many years
with full support and went on to be introduced into over 20 social
services departments across Wales, England and Scotland.
Blackpool care homes were entering a new regime of star
rating in order to provide the public with a simple indicator of
quality. We provided a number of homes with a full service evaluation
in order that they were able to upgrade and refine areas of their
service prior to rating.
The Scottish Executive were taking over responsibility for
the regulation of care providers from local authorities. We provided
an independent evaluation of the information management system they
were to inherit, in order to better inform their IT strategy. We
were in the unique position of having a thorough knowledge of both
the regulatory framework and information management systems.
Tameside Council wanted to launch a campaign
to bring the Phase 3 Metrolink plans back on track. They used our
online petition facility to enable members of the local community
to support them.
Chester Cathedral wanted a database to record and access
details of their extensive library. We provided this in a system
of their choice so that it was compatible with other IT systems.
